On October 21, 2026, patches were released for two critical vulnerabilities in PHP, the technology on which every PrestaShop store runs. The vulnerabilities were named PHP2Shell. Under certain conditions, they allow an attacker to compromise the server without logging into the store.

PHP2Shell is the collective name for two vulnerabilities in PHP: CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619. Under certain conditions, they allow an external attacker to execute their own code on the server with application privileges.

The good news is that patches are already available, including for some older versions of PHP. Below, we explain what this means for your store and what you should check.

A slow PrestaShop store means lost customers, poorer SEO performance and more difficult order processing. PrestaShop has released versions 9.1.4 and 8.2.7. These are technical updates that provide a revised version of the ps_facetedsearch 4.0.4 module. They don't change the operation of Core PrestaShop, but are important from a security perspective. In this article, we explain what has changed, who is affected by the update, and how to safely approach the process of updating the problematic module and the entire PrestaShop store.

In PrestaShop 1.6 and 1.7 stores, an XML error appears in the admin panel regarding XML files. Messages such as “Start tag expected, '<' not found” are usually related to a communication issue with the PrestaShop Addons API. In this post, we explain the cause of the error, its symptoms, and an effective solution.
